Lara O’Neil, APRN, CPNP

Lara O’Neil, APRN is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who combines traditional with integrative health care. Lara specializes in pediatric primary care. She is licensed to perform routine physicals and sports exams, as well as to diagnose, prescribe, and treat acute and chronic health conditions. It is her passion to treat children, adolescents and their families with a holistic approach to healing, as she believes that the ideal model of good health addresses each individual child and family’s physical, mental and spiritual needs. She has a deep sense of compassion for people, she is an attentive and responsive listener and her sense of commitment to providing the best care possible to her patients makes her a unique health care provider.

Lara brings over 20 years of experience working with children. She completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Vermont in 1994 and immediately started working in pediatrics in both the home care setting and in the hospital. She obtained her master’s degree in nursing from the College of St. Catherine in Saint Paul, Minnesota. When becoming board certified in pediatrics, she worked in the public school system in Saint Paul.  After returning to her home state of Connecticut, she worked for 10 years in a bustling pediatric office providing primary care including preventative, acute, chronic and mental health before joining ProNatural Physicians Group.

Her innate inclination for holistic health led to many years researching, studying and experimenting with natural approaches to benefit herself, her children and her patients. In 2012, she earned certification in Integrative Health and Healing through The Graduate Institute. She is also trained in craniosacral therapy through Upledger Institute.

Lara seamlessly combines allopathic medicine and a love of science, with her knowledge and deep respect for integrative medicine to treat the whole person in a “best of both worlds” approach to wellness.

In her free time, she loves spending time with her three uniquely different daughters, reading and hiking. Yoga, meditation and being in nature are an important part of her life and self care.
