Meet Connecticut’s Functional Medicine Integrative Nurse Practitioner:
Miriam Schwartz is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and has been in clinical practice for over 18 years. She has worked in internal medicine, rheumatology, and family medicine seeing infants, children and adolescents. More recently, Miriam has been one of Connecticut’s only bio-identical hormone specialists working in a women’s health group, specializing in hormonal imbalances, bio-identical hormone therapy, thyroid dysfunction, adrenal fatigue, and autoimmune disorders. Ms. Schwartz received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Northeastern University and her Masters of Science in Nursing from Yale University. Miriam follows a holistic approach to healthcare and focuses on incorporating integrative medicine into her clinical practice. Empowering her patients through counseling and educational support, helping her patients make optimal health and lifestyle choices is very important. She bridges the gap between conventional, functional and natural medicine and is able to give her patients comprehensive care. Miriam has also held positions as courtesy faculty with Yale School of Nursing, Saint Joseph University, UConn, and Quinnipiac University precepting nurse practitioner students.
